Even the most charismatic speaker—with the most fascinating story to tell—can be derailed by awkwardly structured content, crowded or confusing PowerPoint slides or handouts that don’t follow the flow of the discussion. In this session, you’ll learn to build engaging, focused presentations, whether you will speak to an audience of thousands or deliver a workshop for 15. Our topics include:
- Structuring content to mirror the “who, what, why, when and how” of journalism;
- Designing PowerPoint slides that reinforce your points without overwhelming the audience;
- Creating handouts that encourage participation without distracting from the presenter.
Throughout the session, we’ll also review the key elements of style, grammar and usage that are essential to quality presentation materials.
