New restaurant openings represent a wealth of opportunity in the area of training. In many ways, an opening is a giant team building exercise.

This session reviews one person’s design and delivery of the training processes that surround new restaurant openings. The method relies on small group facilitation and follows a “practice as you play” design that emphasizes repetition of the basics and mimics a regular restaurant day. In addition, we will review the selection and training of opening trainers, how to win the argument for building readiness, and managing the transition from training to operations.
