2008 CHART Summer Conference

FAQ

How do I get there?
The Gaylord National is located just across the Potomac from DC at 201 Waterfront Street in National Harbor, MD. For reservations call 301-965-4000. Our room rate is a very low $149 per night and the room block expires on July 7, 2008. Cabs from the Reagan National Airport will cost in the $35/range and from BWI or Dulles upwards of $55. Super Shuttle (blue van with yellow lettering) is available at the airport and details can be found by going to www.supershuttle.com or 1-800-blue-van. Costs will vary dependent on the airport, but the hotel does not recommend Super Shuttle for the return trip to the airport as they are not reliable to get you to the airport on time. If renting a car, parking at the hotel is $19 per night for self parking.

What do I wear?
Attire for the conference meetings is business casual. For the Monday night awards dinner, business attire is suggested. Summertime in DC can get very warm and humid, but please remember hotel meeting rooms can get cool so be sure to pack a light sweater.

When should I arrive?
If you are participating in the Saturday pre conference workshops, you need to arrive Friday night or early Saturday morning. First Time Attendees should plan to arrive in time for the First Time Attendee Meeting at 5 p.m. Saturday night. The First Time Attendee meeting is very strongly recommended for attendees that have never attended a CHART conference. All attendees should arrive in time for the opening Cocktail reception Saturday night. Not a standard meet & greet, the opening reception is designed to make attendees feel included from the start, making sure that you have met people early on and are getting the most out of the conference. The Conference starts at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. The Conference ends on Tuesday at 1 p.m.

What should I bring?
Bring business cards and any logo items you want to add to the give-away table to share with CHART members (people bring company mugs, t-shirts, hats, pens, calculators, etc. to leave out for other attendees).

What is the First Time Attendee Meeting?
CHART is a unique, personal, intense association of members, and we want to make sure that Trainers who attend a conference for the first time understand how the sessions will go, how to get the most out of their three days, and give them an opportunity to meet people early and feel comfortable networking right from the start. The First Time Attendee Meeting is for any trainer attending a CHART conference for the first time, and for the Mentors who will help guide them through it contributing freely and getting the most out of their time as they can.
